Meta has appointed Dana White, the president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and a close ally of former US President Donald Trump, to its board of directors.

This move is seen as a strategic attempt by Meta to expand its global reach and tap into the lucrative sports industry.

White, who has been instrumental in popularizing mixed martial arts through the UFC, is expected to bring his vast experience and network to the table.

This appointment has raised eyebrows among many, particularly given Trump's history of controversy and Meta's efforts to rebrand as a more socially responsible company.
