Chwalinska managed to extend the match by winning the sixth game, but Andreeva was unstoppable, breaking Chwalinska's serve for the seventh time to secure the championship.
This victory marked Andreeva's first Grand Slam title, following in the footsteps of other Russian women's tennis greats, including Anastasia Myskina (2004), Svetlana Kuznetsova (2009), and Maria Sharapova (2012, 2014).
In the victory ceremony, Andreeva praised Chwalinska, saying "You're a very difficult opponent, I wouldn't want to play against you again."
