Read the reactions of the goalkeepers after the dramatic win, speaking to Sky Sports post-match, below...
How does this win compare to Salah's debut goal for Liverpool against Everton?
Van Dijk: Not at all, my debut goal was a perfect night for me personally. But tonight was a massive win in the situation we find ourselves in, in the chase for the Champions League places. It was clear from the start that it was not good enough for Liverpool, in my opinion, but that's the reality and it's important that we got the win here tonight. And I'm glad we did.
About Salah's goal in his last Merseyside Derby appearance:
Salah: It feels amazing, being fair. The most important thing is to help the team stay calm and keep confidence, because we knew before the game that it would be a tough one, that it would be a difficult game. I'm happy that in the end, we managed to win the game.

With only a few games left to play for The Reds:
Salah: No, but I hope I keep scoring goals and helping the team at least reach the Champions League qualification this season. And hopefully, I can bid farewell in a good way.
This win gives a boost to securing Champions League qualification:
Van Dijk: A hundred percent. We have five games left against teams that are also fighting for the Champions League places. Every game is a massive one. As I said, we're extremely disappointed with the season as a whole, given the quality we possess – it's below our standards. But we have to keep fighting, keep moving forward, and making the best of a bad and tough season. That's the reality. The next one is Crystal Palace at home, and it's clear we can't afford to lose that game for many matches.
About Van Dijk's praise for Salah as the Egyptian's potential departure draws near:
Van Dijk: There will be a lot of words coming out of my mouth in the next few weeks about him. But listen, he's incredibly important to us, both on and off the pitch. I'll say, appreciation sometimes comes a little late when players leave but we really value him. He's an exceptional teammate, we've been through ups and downs together; highs and lows. He'll still be crucial for us in the five remaining games, and then it will become emotional for him and his family, certainly. But for us, he's been crucial, and we'll miss him, of course. But first and foremost, we still have work to do, and he knows that – that's our focus.
