Mohamed Salah Leaves a Lasting Legacy at Liverpool Before Departure from Anfield

SATUMEDIA.ID - Mohamed Salah's remarkable journey with Liverpool is set to come to an end with the final match of the season against Brentford on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 22:00 WIB. The Egyptian forward's departure marks the close of one of the most storied eras in Anfield history, spanning nearly a decade of incredible contributions to the team.

After joining Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017 for a transfer fee of around 34 million pounds, Salah initially faced doubts following his unimpressive stint at Chelsea. However, he quickly shed that reputation as he blossomed into one of the world's top players under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp. The Egyptian winger became synonymous with Liverpool's resurgence at both the domestic and European levels.

During his time with the Reds, Salah scored an impressive 257 goals and provided 119 assists from over 35,000 minutes of gameplay. His tally surpassed that of several legendary players, including Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler, and Michael Owen, cementing his position in the club's all-time top scorers list. Only Ian Rush and Roger Hunt have scored more goals in the club's history.

Jurgen Klopp praised Salah for setting new standards of professionalism and work ethic among the Liverpool squad, while Ian Rush commended the forward's consistency, describing him as more than just a goal-scorer but a complete player. From a young boy in Nagrig, Egypt, to being hailed as 'Raja Mesir' (King of Egypt) at Anfield, Mohamed Salah has left an indelible mark on the hearts of Liverpool fans.
