Nebraska Legacy Stays Home: Rautenberg Commits to Her Home State Huskers

The Nebraska volleyball program is getting a boost from its home state talent, as Shayla Rautenberg commits to the Huskers on the first day college coaches could offer scholarships to the Class of 2028.

A rising junior from Milford High School, Rautenberg is a dominant force on the court, with impressive stats in volleyball and basketball. She helped Milford win state titles in both sports this year, and also qualified for the Class B state track meet in the 1600-meter relay.

With a strong club background at Nebraska ONE and a gold medal win at the 2025 NORCECA Pan American Cup as a member of the U19 national team, Rautenberg is an elite athlete in her own right. She is also the daughter of Lisa Reitsma, a three-time All-American for the Huskers and a member of the 1995 National Championship team.

Rautenberg's high school stats are impressive, averaging 5.6 kills while hitting .366 with 108 total blocks in volleyball, and putting up 18.2 points, 14.5 rebounds and 4 blocks per game in basketball.

Sporting impressive rankings as the No. 3 overall 2028 prospect according to PrepDig and No. 4 in PrepVolleyball's rankings, Rautenberg is set to make a name for herself at the Devaney Sports Center. She is the top-ranked recruit in Volleyball Adrenaline's rankings and the No. 6-ranked basketball recruit in Nebraska according to PrepGirlsHoops.
