NewJeans is once again a topic of industry speculation, with analysts predicting a "highly likely" comeback timeline and plans for a global tour, even as the group's current hiatus continues with an uncertain lineup.
According to a report released on June 10 by Hana Securities analyst Lee Ki Hoon, NewJeans is a crucial factor in HYBE's future performance. The report suggests that the group is expected to make a comeback as a four-member unit by October at the latest.
"There is a high possibility that NewJeans will return as a four-member group by October at the latest. Considering that NewJeans was one of the key groups of the fourth generation, the results of that comeback could become a trigger for a rebound," Lee Ki Hoon stated.
While this prediction has circulated, there has been no official confirmation from HYBE or ADOR regarding the comeback's timing, lineup, or format. Recent updates have indicated that members have been involved in pre-production activities in Copenhagen, with some reportedly participating in recording sessions. However, the group's full lineup remains a subject of discussion.
The report also outlined a longer-term outlook, projecting that HYBE's artists, including NewJeans, could spearhead large-scale world tours around 2028. This forecast is contingent on the anticipated stabilization of earnings and overall recovery within the entertainment sector.
"He also projected strong growth in 2028, estimating that large-scale tours by SEVENTEEN, NewJeans, KATSEYE, and Cortis could generate an additional ₩500-600 billion in revenue," noted a Financial Post report.
Despite these projections, they remain speculative. Fans are eagerly awaiting an official update on NewJeans' return, particularly given the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the group's structure and future activities.
Industry analysis suggests NewJeans could return as a four-member group before October, with a potential world tour in the works for 2028.
