NFC Notes: Bryce Young's Rise, Jordyn Tyson's Impact, and the Falcons, Panthers, and Saints

The NFL preseason is typically a time of optimism and anticipation for teams and their fans. However, this year, the Carolina Panthers are generating buzz for all the right reasons, thanks in large part to the impressive growth and development of quarterback Bryce Young. Entering his third season in the league, Young appears to be more comfortable and confident, both on and off the field, earning praise from his teammates and coaches alike.

As noted by Panthers tight end Mitchell Evans, Young's transformation is palpable, and his newfound confidence is contagious, radiating throughout the locker room and even in the team's facility. 'Just being here for the last year and a half, I'd say he just seems more comfortable,' Evans observed via an interview with the Athletic's Joe Person. 'Even from when I first got here to now, he seems more confident in himself. And just the way he carries himself, he's got more of a presence. And you can see that reflected on the field and even in the locker room and throughout the building. You can see he's more confident.' Young's progress is a testament to his dedication and work ethic, as well as the team's commitment to helping him improve.

Young's sentiments, however, are decidedly more practical and forward-thinking, focusing on the present moment rather than comparing his past performance. 'I'm not a big sit back, reflect, compare (person),' he explained. 'Doesn't really do anything for me. So I don't think about the past like that. I'm happy with the camp we're having so far. I'm happy with the growth as a unit. But it's still early. We've got a lot more to do. ' By remaining focused on the task at hand, Young is able to maintain a sense of objectivity and clarity, allowing him to tackle each challenge with renewed enthusiasm and purpose.

Given the Panthers' decision to pick up his fifth-year option for 2027 and the lack of significant progress on securing a long-term deal, Young's future with the team remains uncertain. However, he seems to be unfazed by the uncertainty, choosing instead to concentrate on the immediate future and let the chips fall where they may. 'I try to feed off the people around me. All of us are pushing each other, wanting to be at our best,' Young said. 'Coaching staff challenging me, challenging all of us to take that next step system-wise. It's just about having that growth mindset. For me, I just try to be where my feet are, make sure I'm focused. Whatever happens in the future, happens in the future. When you start thinking about that, you're not able to focus on where you're at. ' By embracing the present and letting go of unnecessary worries, Young is able to maintain a level head and stay true to his goals, both personally and professionally.

The Panthers' season is full of promise, and with a quarterback as skilled and determined as Bryce Young, the possibilities are endless. His growth and development have caught the attention of football fans and observers nationwide, and he is undoubtedly one to watch this season. As the team prepares for another challenging campaign, Young's steady hand and unwavering confidence will undoubtedly be a driving force behind their success.

The NFC South, meanwhile, will be a highly competitive division, with several talented teams vying for a spot in the playoffs. The Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and New Orleans Saints are all expected to be major players, and the battle for supremacy will be intense. With Young at the helm, the Panthers will be a force to be reckoned with, and their prospects look brighter than ever.
