Portugal Dominates Chile 2-1 in Pre-World Cup Tune-Up Game

Portugal celebrated a stunning 2-1 victory over Chile in a pre-World Cup friendly match on June 7, 2026.

Bruno Fernandes, the Manchester United captain, displayed his exceptional skills, scoring one goal and providing an assist to help his team secure the win.

Bruno Fernandes' impressive performance made him the standout player of the match, as Portugal dominated the game from the start.

Although Chile had several opportunities through the likes of Ruben Dias, Rafael Leao, and Cristiano Ronaldo, the score remained goalless until Goncalo Guedes scored in the second half, assisted by Ruben Neves.

This was followed by Bruno Fernandes' spectacular goal from outside the penalty area in the 75th minute, further increasing Portugal's lead to 2-0.

Chile managed to reduce the deficit in injury time through Lucas Cepeda, but it was not enough to salvage a draw as Portugal emerged victorious.

Statistics showed that Bruno Fernandes had the most significant impact on the game, creating four scoring opportunities, successfully executing 29 passes in the opponent's third of the field, and making seven passes across the field.

Portugal outperformed Chile in terms of shots, with 18 attempts and an expected goal (xG) value of 1.57, compared to Chile's eight shots and an xG value of 0.36.
