As the numbers keep rolling, players are eager to know - who will be the lucky winner and take home the life-changing prize.

A winner in the next Mega Millions drawing would have the choice of taking home the $672 million jackpot as an annuity or $293.3 million in cash. However, the potential reward is undeniable, and many are willing to take a chance.

Even though both jackpots are on the rise, players are taking home lots of other prizes playing Mega Millions and Powerball. Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing produced over 11,300 winning tickets in North Carolina, while Wednesday's Powerball drawing saw over 17,500 winning tickets. These players are proof that, while winning the top prize is rare, it's not impossible. In fact, many players have reported claiming prizes ranging from a few dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The North Carolina Education Lottery's Powerball and Mega Millions games operate on a straightforward premise - players choose their numbers and, if they match the winning combination, they win a prize. The games have become incredibly popular, with ticket sales contributing significantly to the state's education fund.
