Raffi Ahmad, a Special Envoy for Youth and the Arts, has denied any involvement in the Blueray Cargo import scandal. He clarified that he only took a photo in front of the Blueray Cargo store during his visit to the United States in 2025.
In a press conference held in Jakarta, Raffi explained that his meeting with Blueray Cargo representatives was accidental, as he was visiting several Indonesian-owned businesses in New York while on a trip to the US to support Indonesian entrepreneurs.
During his visit, Raffi had lunch at Awang Kitchen and visited Indo Java, where he took photos with many Indonesian residents. When he left the location, he was approached by Blueray Cargo staff who asked him to take a photo with them.
Raffi stated that the staff from Blueray Cargo offered to send him an iPhone for free, but he declined the offer saying he didn't need it. He asserted that there was no further conversation or transaction.
Hotman Paris, Raffi's lawyer, added that there was no evidence to support the claims that Raffi had made any purchases or received goods from Blueray Cargo.
Hotman Paris explained that the name 'Raffi Ahmad' was included in the case due to internal discussions between Blueray Cargo staff, which were later discovered during the investigation.
The Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (KPK) had previously mentioned that Raffi Ahmad's name was involved in a case related to Blueray Cargo, a company suspected of bribery in the importation of goods for the Direktorat Jenderal Bea Cukai.
Raffi emphasized that he had never engaged in any transactions or received goods from Blueray Cargo and urged the public not to spread unverified information.
Raffi Ahmad denies involvement in Blueray Cargo import scandal, clarifying his role as a supporter of Indonesian businesses abroad.
