Just when Iraq had equalized, Norway quickly took the lead thanks to Erling Haaland. Norway had opened the score with their star attacker, on a slipped tackle on the reception of a Wolfe center (0-1), before seeing Aymen Hussein equalize for Iraq with a superb volley on an Al Ammari center (1-1).

But the Norwegian reaction was not long in coming. On a too soft return pass from an Iraqi defender, the Iraqi goalkeeper Hassan is put under pressure and kicks out as he can. Haaland anticipates perfectly and blocks the ball, which ends up at the bottom of the net. A hat-trick goal that allows Norway to take the lead again in this Group I match.
