Nancy Gruber lived a life defined by her unwavering dedication to her family and the law. As the wife of prominent attorney David Gruber, she often found herself in the spotlight, but it was her own accomplishments and character that truly made her shine.
Born and raised in Milwaukee, Nancy Gruber graduated from Nicolet High School and then attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She later attended Marquette University Law School, where she graduated cum laude in 1983. It was at Marquette that she met her future husband, David.
After initially focusing on insurance defense litigation, Nancy Gruber switched to the plaintiff’s side of personal injury law, a move that closely aligned with her passion for advocating for those who had been seriously injured. Her unique approach and skillset made her a valuable asset to her husband’s law firm, Gruber Law Offices.
Together with David, Nancy spearheaded the growth of the firm, which is believed to be one of the largest personal injury law firms in the country. Her contributions went far beyond the courtroom, as she worked tirelessly behind the scenes to support the firm’s philanthropic efforts and community outreach programs.
Nancy Gruber is survived by her husband, David; their children, Steven and Lauren; and four grandchildren. Her passing has left an indelible mark on the city of Milwaukee, where she will be deeply missed.
