KabarOto.com - The legendary name of Ayrton Senna returns to Donington Park as part of a series of moments marking McLaren's commemoration of Ayrton Senna's legacy, 30 years after the legendary driver's last debut in May 1994.

Looking back on Ayrton Senna's performance at the 1993 European Grand Prix at the Leicestershire circuit in England, Ayrton's nephew, Bruno Senna, took to the track with the McLaren Senna hypercar in honor of his late uncle's legendary journey.

The race held on April 11th, 1993, will be remembered not only as one of the most epic victories won by Ayrton Senna, but also, on a broader scale, is considered one of the greatest laps in the history of Formula 1.

Driving the McLaren MP4/8 in rainy conditions, Ayrton Senna sped from fifth place to first place in the opening lap. The Brazilian driver left the conventional racing track at several points to secure the world championship at the 2.5-mile circuit.

This achievement, known as 'Lap of the Gods', was a remarkable performance in difficult and complex conditions, and against more competitive cars. "For me, it was an unforgettable moment, like Portugal 1985 and Brazil 1991," said the nephew.

The McLaren MP4 Senna he drove had a dry weight of 1,198 kg, supported by an M-shaped chassis and a carbon fiber Monocage III body panel, combined with a 4,000 cc twin-turbo V8 engine outputting 789 horsepower, the McLaren Senna has a power-to-weight ratio of 659 horsepower per ton. The car's braking system can come to a complete stop from 200 km/h in just 100 meters.
