Apple recently announced that it will unify the email domains used by Sign in with Apple and iCloud+ Hide My Email under a single shared domain.
Starting later this summer, the new domain, private.icloud.com, will be used to issue new email addresses for both features. This change is aimed at simplifying email management and enhancing security for users.
New addresses generated for both features will be issued on the new domain. For example, users may receive email addresses like [email protected] for Sign in with Apple and [email protected] for Hide My Email.
Developers and email service providers should update their systems to accept the new domain. Apple advises developers to modify their account systems, email validation logic, and allowlists to include private.icloud.com, and email service providers to update any domain-based filtering, suppression lists, or routing rules.
The company emphasized that existing addresses on legacy domains will continue to work and forward mail to users without interruption.
Apple encourages developers to consult the help articles for more details on both Sign in with Apple and the Private Email Relay Service.
