Iowa State Fair Kicks Off with Excitement and Anticipation
The Iowa State Fair is officially underway, bringing with it a plethora of exciting events,...

In an electrifying turn of events for Rush fans, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson surprised audiences by diving deep into their iconic 1976 mini-rock opera, '2112.'
On the second night of their Fifty Something Tour at Los Angeles' Kia Forum, the legendary duo played the entirety of the '2112' suite, a fan-favorite that spans a full side of its original album. This marked the first time the band had performed the complete seven-part masterpiece live since 1997, delivering a powerful 20-minute rendition complete with pyro.
The monumental performance also served as a significant moment for new touring drummer Anika Nilles. Taking on the challenging, intricate drumming patterns of the late Neil Peart, Nilles flawlessly navigated the complex rhythms and tempo changes throughout '2112.' The suite culminated with Peart's iconic recorded voice declaring, "Attention all planets of the Solar Federation: We have assumed control."
Beyond the epic '2112' performance, Rush kept their promise to shake up the setlist. The night featured six other tour premieres, including fan-requested tracks like 'The Analog Kid,' the instrumental 'Leave That Thing Alone,' 'The Trees,' 'Headlong Flight,' 'Animate,' and 'Closer to the Heart.' They also revisited the '2112' album for a performance of 'A Passage to Bangkok.'
