SEGA Brings Back the Madness with Crazy Taxi World Tour

Popline.id - SEGA has announced Crazy Taxi World Tour, the highly anticipated reboot of the classic arcade racing series.

The much-anticipated return of the iconic series was revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, leaving fans eagerly awaiting its arrival.

This latest installment will be available on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Its arrival marks the return of the mainline Crazy Taxi series to modern consoles after a two-decade hiatus.

The first trailer showcased the return of Axel, one of the most iconic characters in the franchise's history.

In the new story, Axel must chase down a group of masked thieves who have stolen his trusty taxi.

At the same time, players are challenged to transport passengers to various destinations with thrilling and chaotic driving that has become a hallmark of the series.

SEGA also brought a nostalgic touch by including a soundtrack featuring music from The Offspring, a punk rock band closely associated with Crazy Taxi's identity since its arcade and Dreamcast days in the late 1990s.

From the shown clip, Crazy Taxi World Tour still maintains the high-speed arcade racing mechanics, but it is now powered by the technology of modern consoles.

This allows developers to deliver larger cities, denser traffic, and more vibrant pedestrian activity compared to previous games in the series.
