Seiko's Latest Edition: A Watch Inspired by Fullmetal Alchemist's Edward Elric

Seiko and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood have joined forces to create a limited-edition collaboration wristwatch centered around the series' iconic protagonist, Edward Elric.

Developed by Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist first saw the light of day in Monthly Shonen Gangan in 2001, captivating readers with its intricate characters, engaging storyline, and unique fantasy setting.

The series marked its 20th anniversary in 2021, commemorated with various projects, including an original artwork exhibition, the debut of Arakawa's manga Yomi no Tsugai, and a mobile game announcement, showcasing the franchise's enduring popularity.

The watch, dubbed the 'Seiko Collaboration Watch Edward Elric Model,' seamlessly incorporates design elements inspired by Edward and the world of alchemy.

The black dial features a striking red transmutation circle associated with Edward's alchemical techniques, complemented by the Flamel's Cross symbol as a visual accent.

The watch's hour markers utilize raised components modeled after the bolts found on Edward's Automail right arm.

The LumiBrite applied to the markers at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions enhances readability in low-light environments.

An Amestrian military insignia is incorporated into the sub-dial positioned at 6 o'clock, further connecting the watch to the series' setting.

The reverse side of the watch features the engraved phrase 'Don't forget 3. OCT. 11,' referencing the famous inscription found within Edward's State Alchemist pocket watch.

The watch's stainless steel band, selected for its durability, resistance to corrosion, and suitability for everyday wear, offers additional functionality such as water resistance up to 10 atmospheres and a built-in stopwatch feature.

The accompanying presentation box, designed to evoke Edward's iconic red coat through its scarlet-colored exterior, features the Flamel symbol embossed in matte gold foil as a tribute to the emblem associated with State Alchemists.

The packaging also incorporates an English version of the well-known quote, 'Stand up and walk. Move forward. You've got two fine legs there, don't you?'

A three-dimensional display-style structure allows the watch to be showcased while remaining inside the box.

The interior features both the 'EDWARD ELRIC' name and the 'SEIKO' logo, emphasizing the exclusive nature of the collaboration.

Priced at 65,780 yen (approximately $455 USD / £335 GBP), pre-orders are available through the AMNIBUS official online store until July 22, 2026, with deliveries expected to begin in late January 2027.
