As we head into the week, multiple waves of showers and thunderstorms are expected to hit the Detroit area. According to the National Weather Service, the region can expect highs in the low 70s with some sunshine on Monday.
However, things will take a turn for the worse on Tuesday, as the first wave of showers and thunderstorms moves into the area during the afternoon and evening hours. Highs will top out in the upper 70s, but forecasters warn that these storms could become severe and produce heavy downpours and large hail.
Things will only get worse on Wednesday, as more widespread and stronger storms move into the area. These storms will be capable of producing isolated tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds.
