The Shore Fire in Riverside County was first detected 8 hours ago on June 15th at 3:23 p.m. on San Timoteo Canyon Road, southwest of Calimesa.

Firefighters with the Cal Fire Riverside Unit have been actively battling the fire for eight hours, resulting in 2,053.4 acres burned.

A crew of 255 has been working on site, with a containment rate of 20% as of Tuesday midnight. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Efforts to combat the fire involve 41 engines, two water tenders, two helicopters, six dozers, and six hand crews.

According to Cal Fire, 'Numerous firefighting air tankers from throughout the state are flying fire suppression missions as conditions allow.'
