Teen Arrested Following Haywood Mall Shooting Incident

A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged as an adult after a shooting occurred at the Haywood Mall on Haywood Road in Greenville, South Carolina, just after 1 p.m. on Saturday, according to officials.

The suspect in custody is 17-year-old Kamari Walker, who is being identified because he is being charged as an adult.

Walker is facing multiple charges, including Assault and Battery High and Aggravated, which allows him to be charged as an adult.

The charges stem from Walker firing his gun in the mall at another group of individuals who were also firing a gun.

The Greenville Police Department is still attempting to identify the other party involved in the incident and asks anyone with videos or information to come forward.

Officers discovered two victims, a female bystander who sustained a gunshot wound to her foot, and a male victim who was shot in the neck and shoulder area.

Both victims have been hospitalized and are in stable condition.

The people involved in the incident knew each other, and a verbal altercation led to the shooting.

The mall was closed Saturday evening but reopened on Sunday morning.
