Tennis Stars Sinner and Alcaraz Face Challenges at Monte-Carlo 2026

Tennis sensations Alcaraz faced challenges in securing a win in the third round of the Monte Carlo 2026 tournament.

Despite easily winning the first set 6-1, world's number one tennis player Carlos Alcaraz made 24 errors in the second set, allowing Tomas Martin Etcheverry to level the match at 6-4. In the deciding set, Alcaraz broke his opponent's serve early and sealed the set 6-3 to advance to the Monte Carlo 2026 quarterfinals. However, fans remain on edge as "Carlitos" has yet to find his best form on clay.

A similar situation is faced by Jannik Sinner. The Italian player lost one set to Machac with a score of 6-1, 6-7(3), 6-3, marking his first one-set loss in 186 days.

After the match, Sinner expressed his disappointment at losing one set, a situation he has not encountered in an ATP 1000 tournament since the Shanghai Masters in October 2025.

At the quarterfinals of Monte-Carlo 2026, Sinner will face Auger-Aliassime, while Alcaraz is set to face Alexander Bublik.
