Texas Men's Tennis Dominates with Two ITA National Awards

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Awards have announced their latest honorees, and Texas is at the top of the list. Sebastian Gorzny, a notable player for the Longhorns, has been named the Senior Player of the Year. This marks the third time in four years that a Texas player has received this esteemed award, following Micah Braswell in 2024 and Eliot Spizzirri in 2023.

Gorzny's impressive performance has cemented his place as an ITA All-American in singles, finishing with a ranking of No. 2, the fourth time in a row that a Texas player has achieved this feat. He also showcased his skills by being the Most Outstanding Player of the ITA National Indoor Championships and the Most Valuable Player of the SEC Championship, and First Team All-SEC for the second consecutive year.

Benjamin Becker, the coach of the Texas men's tennis team, has also received recognition, being named the Assistant Coach of the Year. Under his guidance, the team achieved impressive results, including an NCAA National Runner-Up finish, a second-straight Final Four appearance, the program's first ITA Indoors National Championship, and back-to-back sweeps of the SEC regular season and tournament titles.

Becker's leadership has been instrumental in the team's success, and this award is a testament to his dedication and skill as a coach.

The Texas men's tennis program continues to thrive, and these two ITA National Awards are a testament to the team's hard work and dedication. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for this talented group of athletes.
