Thousands Left Without Power as Storms Hit San Antonio

Thousands of CPS Energy customers across San Antonio were left without power after a cold front brought strong storms and severe weather.

According to a CPS Energy outage map, 9,789 customers are currently without power due to 76 active outages, with crews working to restore power as quickly as possible.

However, flooded roads and hazardous conditions may limit access and delay restoration efforts, with crew safety being the top priority.

The utility agency also shared that the CPS Energy customer walk-in centers will delay opening until noon today.

A Flash Flood Warning was issued for the San Antonio area, with the National Weather Service warning of heavy rainfall and the potential for more than 8 inches of rain in some locations.

The Flood Watch remains in effect for South-Central Texas from 7 p.m. this evening through 7 p.m. Tuesday.
