Three Young Children Left Unattended at Warren Apartment Complex, Mother Arrested

A disturbing scene unfolded at the Warren Manor Apartments on Monday when multiple witnesses reported seeing three small children, approximately two to three years old, wandering around the parking lot. The children were described as neglected and covered in filth.

According to eyewitnesses, the young siblings followed a stranger to a nearby store, and when he returned to the apartment complex, they continued to follow him. Concerned for their safety, the good Samaritan sought assistance from the leasing office.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 PM at the Warren Manor Apartments, located off Dequindre near 8 Mile. The Warren Police Department received a report of a domestic situation at the apartment complex and subsequently took the children's mother into custody.

A woman was arrested for allegedly attacking her son, and officers later located the children's mother, who was also taken into custody. A third child, an infant, was reportedly with the other two siblings at the time of the incident.

The children were safely taken into police custody and transported back to the station, where Child Protective Services was contacted. A kind resident from the leasing office ensured the children were cared for before their departure, noting they were in relatively good spirits despite their difficult situation.

"A manager took the kids inside and washed them because they were really dirty. It was really sad. It was messed up," said Jaylen Cobbs, a resident of the apartment complex. "They are goofy, a little mean at times, but really nice kids and relatively unharmed and in good spirits and everything. Other than they were dirty, they just want to jump around and mess with you."

The leasing office manager confirmed that the children's mother is not a tenant, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear at this time.
