TNA Producer and Former World Champion Sami Callihan Exits Amidst Workforce Reduction

TNA Wrestling, once known as Impact Wrestling, continues to undergo significant transformations. The most recent departure from the company is that of producer and former World Champion, Sami Callihan. His exit comes as TNA is calling it a 'workforce reduction' in an official statement.

This development was first reported by PWInsider Elite on Wednesday, just before TNA released a press release confirming the move. According to the source, Callihan had been working as a producer after he retired from in-ring competition, following his loss to current TNA World Champion Mike Santana at TNA Emergence 2025.

Certainly, a shocking move, given the timing, as the company gears up for TNA Slammiversary on June 28, an event that promises to be quite a spectacle. TNA also faces stiff competition this weekend, with WWE, AEW x NJPW, and 'WWE NXT' shows lined up for the packed weekend ahead.

As confirmed by Callihan himself on social media, he seems to be looking forward to the next chapter of his professional journey.

Sami Callihan's tenure with TNA, which started in 2017 and went up until 2023, was notable for his successful run as Impact World Champion from October 2019 to January 2020, not to mention his stint in other wrestling promotions like WWE, Lucha Underground, MLW, ROH, and more.

Interestingly, during his time with TNA, Callihan had the opportunity to hone his skills in both the ring and behind the scenes, working closely with other talented individuals in the industry.

In a surprising move, TNA's creative head, Tommy Dreamer, is also leaving the company, although this was a mutual decision, according to TNA's statement. It's worth noting that Tessa Blanchard had recently requested her release and was granted it by the company. The departures, particularly in the creative team, are certainly making waves this time around.
