Tutor Perini has been awarded a major contract worth $652 million to work on a military base project in Guam. The contractor will collaborate with its subsidiary, Black Construction, which is based on the island.
The project involves replacing existing primary and secondary overhead electrical distribution feeders with new underground circuit conductors within concrete-encased duct banks. This will improve the base's electrical system.
The contract was awarded by the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command in the Pacific Region, which oversees construction, management, and upkeep of Navy bases in the area.
This is not the first major project Tutor Perini has secured in the Indo-Pacific region. In May, the Coast Guard awarded the firm's Perini Management Services subsidiary a $61.6 million contract to design and build a child development center at the base in Alaska.
Design for the project is set to begin in August, with construction starting next April, and substantial completion anticipated for June 2031.
