A close aide to Anthropic and the US government reportedly raised security concerns around Mythos and Fable's access, prompting the ban.
The ban has halted the usage of Anthropic's industry-leading cybersecurity models, Mythos and Fable, which were released just last week.
A report claims that the US government was tipped off by a highly credible trusted partner about a potential security risk in Fable's guardrails, leading to the ban.

The decision has been defended by Kirsten Davies, the Pentagon's chief information officer, who said it prioritizes national security over revenue.
Anthropic is currently in talks with White House officials to resolve the issue, which could have severe consequences for the AI giant as it gears up for a massive IPO.
