SERAMBINEWS.COM - US President Joe Biden has informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the US will not support any retaliation strikes against Iran, reports say, citing senior government officials.

Axios and CNN have reported that Biden made the statement during a phone call between the two leaders.

Axios reports that Biden told Netanyahu that the US will oppose retaliatory strikes.

CNN reports that Biden said the US will not take part in such actions.

No drones, long-range missiles have reached Israel, reports claim

A report by a Hebrew media outlet claims that no drones or long-range missiles have breached Israel's airspace.

According to an unattributed report, most ballistic missiles were downed outside Israel's airspace.

A report by Ynet says around 20 long-range missiles were downed near Israel's border.

US, UK, and Jordan helped down many of the drones.

Biden Asks Israel to Consult with US Before Retaliation Strikes

US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke when Israel was considering its response to Iran's attacks, which included hundreds of missiles and drones launched into Israel.

A CNN report says US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin asked his Israeli counterpart to inform Washington before any potential retaliation against Iran.

NBC News reports that the administration is worried about Israel's impulsive response to the strikes after Netanyahu's government failed to inform the US about its plan to target senior Guardia members in Damascus last week.

A source told the network that Biden expressed concerns that Netanyahu is trying to drag the US into a bigger conflict.

In response, an Israeli official told the New York Times that any action will be coordinated with Israel's allies.

Tehran said on Sunday that it will not hesitate to take further defensive measures to protect its interests against any military aggression, the state-run Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
