For Vancouver Whitecaps, however, the loss marked their second consecutive defeat in Leagues Cup play, leaving them reeling from the setback.

The match got off to an electric start, with Vancouver Whitecaps looking to make a quick statement. Jeevan Badwal opened the scoring in the 12th minute, his second career goal at BC Place, sending the crowd into raptures. However, FC Juarez were not about to let their opponents dictate the pace of the game, and they soon found their footing. Their persistence paid off in the 34th minute, when Ian Torres split the Whitecaps' defense and sent a through ball to Ettson Ayón, who fired a blistering shot past Isaac Boehmer.

From that point on, FC Juarez began to dominate the game, with their high press causing Vancouver Whitecaps' defense to falter. The Liga MX side created scoring opportunities at will, and it was only a matter of time before they sealed their victory. The turning point came in the 74th minute, when Oscar Estupiñán scored the go-ahead goal, courtesy of a clever pass from Denzell Garcia. The Mexican side continued to press for more goals, and Ricardo Oliveira sealed the victory in the dying minutes of the match.

The loss was a bitter pill for Vancouver Whitecaps to swallow, particularly given their dominant possession and pressure throughout the match. Head coach Jesper Sørensen will undoubtedly be disappointed with the outcome, and will likely be looking to make significant changes to the team's tactics and personnel to prevent similar defeats in the future. For FC Juarez, on the other hand, the victory is a testament to their determination and resilience. As they prepare to face Real Salt Lake in their next Leagues Cup fixture, they will be looking to build on their momentum and make a deep run in the tournament.
