Watch Olivia Rodrigo Perform 'The Cure' Live on Jimmy Kimmel

Olivia Rodrigo recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to deliver a captivating performance of her evocative single, "The Cure." During her visit, she also chatted with Jimmy Kimmel about her highly anticipated forthcoming album, "You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love."

Dressed in an elegant white gown, Rodrigo commanded the stage with her live band, performing the emotionally charged track amidst a backdrop of red microphone cords. She sang the poignant lyrics, "My head is full of poison, and my heart is full of doubt / I got toxins in my bloodstream and you tried hard to suck 'em out / And it feels like medication, and it’s good for me, I’m sure / But it don’t matter how your love feels anymore."

Rodrigo has been sharing sneak peeks from "You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love," which is set to be released on June 12 via Geffen Records. The album's lead single, "Drop Dead," was released in April, followed by "The Cure" last month. She also recently performed her collaboration with Robert Smith, "What’s Wrong With Me?," live at Primavera.

During her conversation with Kimmel, Rodrigo delved into the making of the album, the experience of filming her "Drop Dead" music video at the Palace of Versailles, and the inspiration behind the album's title. "The record is about being in love, but in sort of a nuanced way," she explained. "It definitely has its highs and lows. I thought that the title really captured that."

Rodrigo shared her admiration for the band The Cure and its frontman Robert Smith. "I feel like everyone is a fan of the Cure," Rodrigo remarked. "I just think they’re the best band ever. I think I was probably introduced to them through my parents. My dad is a huge Cure fan. We saw the Cure perform at Primavera the other day and he said that was his 30th time seeing the Cure. He’s a diehard, super fan."

Later in the show, Jimmy Kimmel presented Rodrigo with an opportunity to experience something she missed out on due to her early success: babysitting. In a humorous pre-taped segment titled "Dreams Come True," Kimmel placed Rodrigo in a dressing room with ten children from his staff, leading to a hilariously chaotic situation.
