Who's the Richest Football Player in the World, Not Ronaldo or Messi?

As the richest football player in the world, where did Faiq's wealth come from? Faiq's wealth didn't come from playing football.

There's often an assumption that a football player is wealthy. While it's not entirely wrong, it's not entirely right either. When it comes to the wealthiest football players, people often think of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

This assumption is understandable, given their fantastic contracts, businesses, and various collaborations.

However, if we look at their personal wealth, it's Faiq Bolkiah, a name unfamiliar to football fans, who holds the title of the richest football player in the world.

Faiq is a member of the Brunei Darussalam royal family. Unlike his family members, he chose to pursue his passion for playing football.

He attended various prestigious institutions, including clubs in England and academies in Portugal.

Some of the places where Faiq studied include Chelsea, Southampton, and Leicester City's academy. Unfortunately, he never got a spot in their main teams.

Not deterred, he moved on to play for a Portuguese football club, Maritimo. He played for the junior team but never got a chance to play with the senior team.

Currently, Faiq represents Brunei Darussalam in the Asian and international competitions. Unfortunately, Brunei's football scene still has a long way to go compared to other Asian countries.

As the richest football player in the world, where did Faiq's wealth come from? Faiq's wealth didn't come from playing football, even though he's a professional footballer. His wealth, worth around $20 million, comes from his family's wealth in Brunei.

This is a far cry from famous footballers like Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. Faiq's wealth comes from various sources, including his family's oil and gas reserves, valuable assets, and investments in different regions and countries.

Due to his royal background, gathering wealth wasn't difficult for Faiq. He didn't need to be as famous as Ronaldo or Messi to become the richest football player in the world. (Revi/R5/HR-Online/Editor: Adi Karyanto)
