Will Salem Al-Dawsari Feature in Today's Match ? Saudi Arabia vs Uruguay in the FIFA World Cup ... - Mix Vale

Salem Al-Dawsari, the captain and lead player of Saudi Arabia, will be the highlight of the match against Uruguay on Monday, June 15, at 7 pm (Brasilia time), at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. The 34-year-old attacker arrives at the 2026 FIFA World Cup motivated to lead the Saudis in search of another surprise, replaying the historic feat of 2022 against Argentina.

Al-Dawsari, who plays for Al-Hilal, is known for his speed, dribbling skills, and ability to decide individual matches. As the number 10 and captain, he is responsible for creating opportunities and exploiting spaces in the Uruguayan defense, especially since Uruguay lacks names like Giorgian de Arrascaeta.

Saudi Arabia, 61st in the FIFA rankings, enters as an outsider in Group H, but can count on Al-Dawsari's experience on the big stage. His iconic goal against Argentina at the 2022 Qatar World Cup continues to inspire Saudi fans, who fill the stadiums and dream of an improbable victory.

Al-Dawsari is the hope for devastating counter-attacks

The veteran has played hundreds of matches with the national team and is going through a phase of maturity within the Saudi club. Under Georgios Donis' orders, he will play on the left wing or center, taking advantage of the quick transitions. His presence forces Uruguay's Marcelo Bielsa to be more attentive to marking, especially with wingers like Guillermo Varela and Matías Viña.

Even with the team with the least technical skills, Al-Dawsari gives an air of unpredictability to the Asian team. A good performance in his debut could be decisive for Saudi Arabia to score and complicate the lives of the favorites.

Uruguay arrives as a favorite despite the absences

Celeste, led by Bielsa, has a superior team with names like Darwin Núñez, Federico Valverde, and Fernando Muslera. However, the absences of Arrascaeta and Ronald Araújo create openings that Al-Dawsari and his teammates aim to exploit.

The Miami stadium is expected to have a balanced presence, but with a strong Uruguayan support. For Saudi Arabia, the focus is on resisting the initial pressure and counter-attacking.

The broadcast will be on SBT, with streaming options on CazéTV (YouTube), Globoplay, SporTV, and platforms like Betano and NSports.
