Dragon's Dogma II Microtransactions Are Removed Ahead of Dark Arisen Release

Capcom is giving Dragon's Dogma II a fresh start by removing microtransactions ahead of the launch of the highly anticipated Dark Arisen expansion later this year.

In a recent post on the series' official social media account, the developer revealed that the Deluxe Edition will be discontinued along with certain downloadable content (DLC) items from June 24 at 5:00 PM PST (June 25 at 1:00 AM BST). The list of items being removed includes the A Boon for Adventures – New Journey, Makeshift Gaol Key – Escape from Gaol, Wakestone – Restore the Dead to Life, and the 500, 1500, and 2500 Rift Crystal variations.

Along with the removal of microtransactions, Capcom has announced that the standard version of Dragon's Dogma II will be permanently discounted starting June 25. While the exact pricing has not been revealed, fans can expect to save some money on the game.

The announcement comes on the heels of Capcom's plans to release two major updates for Dragon's Dogma II before the launch of Dark Arisen. The first update arrived last week, introducing the Eternal Ferrystone Fast Travel item and various adjustments.

For those who have been eagerly awaiting a proper expansion for the sequel, Capcom has finally announced Dark Arisen, set to launch on October 9. The news has generated excitement among fans, who can now look forward to a new chapter in the Dragon's Dogma universe.
