The 900-strong military presence supports the gendarmerie and police in ensuring a smooth G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains and the surrounding areas.

Patrols cover three sectors around Évian-les-Bains, including Thonon, Annemasse, and Geneva. In the Thonon sector, Lieutenant Tumarama from the 2e Régiment d'Infanterie de Marine in Mans (Sarthe) leads a team of 20 soldiers

On land and sea, the military maintains a strong presence throughout the event.
