F1 Star Isack Hadjar Dropped from Miami GP Qualifying Due to Car Infraction

Isack Hadjar, the Red Bull Formula 1 driver, has been disqualified from qualifying for the Grand Prix Miami due to a technical car infraction.

Hadjar's position was downgraded from ninth to last place on the grid.

The FIA investigated Hadjar's car on Saturday night regarding a possible infraction on the floor panel.

"After qualifying, the legal volume of the car was checked," the statement said.

"The left and right floor panels were protruding 2mm above the reference volume of RV-FLOOR BOARD."

"Since this does not comply with Article C3.5.5 of the F1 Technical Regulations, I will refer this matter to the stewards for consideration," the statement said.

Red Bull faced a hearing with the stewards before the Grand Prix on Sunday, where it was decided that Hadjar's car was illegal.

As a result, he was disqualified from the results of the qualifying session, initially placing his Red Bull in ninth place on the grid.

The FIA explained its decision in a penalty notice: "The stewards listened to the representative of team Mobil 6 (Isack Hadjar).

"They did not dispute the findings of the Technical Delegate that part of the left and right floor panels were protruding 2 mm from the reference volume of RV-FLOOR BOARD."

"This is an infringement of Article C3.5.5 of the FIA F1 Technical Regulations and the usual consequence will follow this acknowledged infringement of the technical regulations," the statement said.

"The participants are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Regulations, within the time limits applicable," the statement said.

"The Stewards' decision is taken independently of FIA and solely based on the regulations, guidelines and relevant evidence submitted,"

Hadjar will now start the race from the back of the grid, although Red Bull may choose to start from the pit lane if they wish to significantly change the car's setup,.

His teammate, Max Verstappen, will start the Grand Prix from second place on the grid, narrowly missing out on pole position from Andrea Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes.
