Pemerintah Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang: Bumi Muda Sedia Pulih dan Bangkit — Informasi Terbaru

France's stance on Sudan is rooted in a deep understanding of the country's complex history and the devastating impact of conflict on its people. The ongoing crisis in Darfur, which has resulted in the displacement of millions and countless human rights abuses, is a stark reminder of the importance of upholding international law and holding perpetrators accountable. France's support for the International Criminal Court (ICC) and its efforts to bring those responsible for genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity to justice is a crucial step towards healing and reconciliation.
The recent briefing by the ICC Prosecutor on the situation in Darfur highlighted the gravity of the situation and the need for sustained international support. France welcomed the progress made by the ICC, including the conviction of Ali Abd-Al-Rahman, and emphasized the importance of reparations for victims of these heinous crimes. We also recognized the commitment of the Office of the Prosecutor to address gender-based violence and crimes committed against children, a critical aspect of promoting accountability and justice.
Citing the recent conviction of Ali Abd-Al-Rahman as a significant milestone in holding perpetrators accountable, France stressed that this verdict must now be accompanied by reparations to the victims who have waited for over two decades for justice. In this regard, we call on States, including Council members, to support the ICC's Trust Fund for Victims. Furthermore, France emphasized the importance of cooperation with the ICC, highlighting the need for Sudanese authorities to maintain momentum and strengthen their collaboration with the Office of the Prosecutor.
However, France also expressed concern over the refusal of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to cooperate with the ICC, describing this as unacceptable in light of the gravity of alleged crimes. We urge all concerned States and organizations to strengthen their support for the Office of the Prosecutor, providing both cooperation and resources to enable it to fully implement its mandate. France's commitment to international justice extends beyond Sudan, as we continue to advocate for the extension of the ICC's jurisdiction to the entire territory of the country.
France's unwavering support for Sudan's unity, integrity, and sovereignty is grounded in a recognition of the devastating consequences of division and fragmentation. We reject all unilateral initiatives that risk leading to the division of the country and urge the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and their allies to comply with their obligations under international humanitarian law and international human rights law. France supports the efforts of the Secretary-General's Special Envoy, Pekka Haavisto, and the broader initiatives led by the Quad and the Quintet to achieve a humanitarian truce, followed by a permanent ceasefire, and an independent, inclusive, and civilian-led political dialogue.
As we move forward, France remains committed to working with partners to hold the SAF, the FSR, and their respective allies accountable for their crimes. We welcome the mobilization of the Human Rights Council and support the investigations conducted by the International Criminal Court with the assistance of the United Nations Independent International Fact-Finding Mission. In this regard, France calls on all foreign actors to cease providing support to the parties to the conflict and refrain from actions likely to exacerbate tensions and fuel the conflict.
In conclusion, France reaffirms its unwavering commitment to supporting the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of Sudan through its steadfast support for international justice. We recognize the critical role of the ICC in promoting accountability and justice and reiterate our call for the extension of its jurisdiction to the entire territory of Sudan. France will continue to work alongside States and organizations committed to this endeavor, emphasizing the need for resolve and responsibility when addressing the complex challenges facing Sudan.
France reaffirms its unwavering commitment to supporting the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of Sudan, emphasizing the crucial role of international justice in promoting peace and stability in the region.
