Mo Salah Opens Up About His Emotional Struggle to Leave Liverpool

Mohamed Salah has revealed that he's been crying frequently in recent times as he prepares to leave Liverpool after nine incredible years.

'I've been crying, probably more than usual!' the Egyptian superstar confessed after scoring a crucial assist in his final game for the Reds, a 1-1 draw with Brentford at Anfield.

Salah's assist for Curtis Jones has taken his tally of Premier League assists for Liverpool to 93 – a new record for the Reds, surpassing the legendary Steven Gerrard's 92.

This achievement was some solace for Salah, who ended his Liverpool career without winning a trophy this season. His individual statistics were also a far cry from his usual standards, scoring just 12 goals and 10 assists across all competitions.

'I'm not an emotional person, you won't see that in the media. I'm always seen as tough and aggressive, but inside, I'm like a baby,' Salah explained.

Throughout his nine-year stint with Liverpool, Salah has made 442 appearances, scoring 257 goals and providing 123 assists. His contributions helped the Reds win nine prestigious trophies, including two Premier League titles and the Champions League.

Salah has also won numerous individual awards, including two African Footballer of the Year awards, two Premier League Player of the Season awards, four Premier League Golden Boot awards, and the FIFA Puskas Award.

'We've brought Liverpool back to where it should be,' he declared.

Salah's departure marks the end of an era for the Reds, and he has a message for his teammates: 'It's not just about talent, it's about everything. That's why he's (Robertson) loved by everyone, because he gives it his all on the pitch and the fans love him for that.'
