Oliver Bearman Criticizes Franco Colapinto Following Horrific Incident at F1 Japanese GP 2026

TvOnenews.com reports that Haas driver Oliver Bearman has expressed his frustration towards Franco Colapinto following a terrifying incident at the F1 Japanese GP 2026.

Bearman narrowly escaped a 191 mph crash with a 50G impact at the Suzuka Circuit, but appeared shaken after emerging from his car.

The incident occurred at the Spoon Curve when Bearman approached at a significantly higher speed. He attempted to dodge, lost control, and collided with the track barrier.

'The 50 km/h gap was a sad consequence of this rule,' Bearman said.

'Franco maneuvered in front of me to maintain his position. Last year, it might have been within the limit, but with a 5 or 10 km/h gap, it was probably acceptable. However, with a 50 km/h gap, he didn't give me enough space, and I had to dodge a much larger crash,' he added.

'Essentially, when he moved left, it was a small movement, but with such a speed difference, every action has a significant impact. I'm lucky I didn't collide with him. It would have been much worse if I had,

'I think it's something we discuss on Friday, which even made it a bit more frustrating. We said among all drivers, come on, we need to respect each other,' Bearman continued.

'Yes, moving to maintain your position with a bit more time because of the much higher speed difference than what we've experienced in our sport, and then two days later, this happens, which I don't think is acceptable.

'So, we need to resolve the issue between the drivers, have a bit more respect among drivers, because I'm really not happy with what he did.'

Bearman emphasized the need for drivers to prioritize their safety, especially when it comes to the well-being of their families.

He also commended the advanced safety features of modern cars and the hard work of the FIA in implementing safety measures.
