Rapper Matt Proxy Menguatkan Kritik Terhadap Industri K-Pop, Memperjuangkan Hak-Hak Musikal

Recently, a US-based rapper named Matt Proxy got into hot water with fans of CORTIS for shading the group on social media.

The fiasco unfolded after CORTIS member Martin recommended a song by Proxy to fans, and the singer returned the gesture by harshly criticizing CORTIS’s music.

Popular Female Idol Apologizes For Controversial Photo, Sparks Backlash

Soon, backlash piled up, with fans calling out Matt Proxy for his behavior. However, the artist has since doubled down on his previous take. He recently posted a series of stories on Instagram, reaffirming his dislike for the K-Pop industry as a whole, pointing out that it rips off Black art, is highly manufactured, and often victimizes its own artists with its absurd standards.

In another post, he wrote, “I mog CORTIS,” and proceeded to change his profile photo to that of Stray Kids member Hyunjin sporting an afro-style wig and a large red lip prop over his face. In the next story, he also posted a picture of Bangchan wearing cornrows, sarcastically hitting at the cultural appropriation and blackface committed by the idols.

Matt Proxy’s response has sparked a wildly divided reaction from netizens. While some felt that his stance was completely correct…

it’s easy to take the moral high ground when it comes to that very shitty industry but I don’t buy it when u chose to call them “little Asian girls” before this https://t.co/SmdM2zOQfp
