Saudi Arabia and Uruguay Share the Spoils in Thrilling World Cup 2026 Clash

Saudi Arabia and Uruguay played out a thrilling 1-1 draw in their World Cup 2026 clash.

The match, which took place in Miami, saw Saudi Arabia take the lead through Abdulelah Al-Amri's smart finish.

However, Uruguay equalized in the 80th minute through Maxi Araujo's well-taken goal.

The result leaves Group H deadlocked, following Cape Verde's stunning draw with Spain earlier in the day.

Despite a low turnout, with thousands of empty seats and concourses throughout the game, the match was an entertaining affair.

Uruguay were poor in the first half but improved significantly in the second, with Fede Valverde's move into central midfield catalyzing a dominant performance.

Saudi Arabia's goalkeeper, Mohammed Al-Owais, made several crucial saves to deny Uruguay a winner.

The draw means that both teams will need to regroup and refocus for their next matches in the tournament.
