Sex Assault Charges Rock the Las Vegas Volleyball Community

LAS VEGAS - A Las Vegas courtroom witnessed a significant development on Monday as a judge set bail at $500,000 for former Las Vegas volleyball coach, Levi Miller, accused of sexually assaulting a minor.

Miller appeared in court, where a prosecutor detailed the allegations against the 26-year-old before Judge Kristal Bradford.

The charges against Miller include sex assault against a child under 16, lewdness with a child 14 or 15, and child abuse or neglect.

According to the prosecutor, Miller allegedly groomed the alleged victim for a relationship after becoming her trainer. The victim reportedly confided in friends about Miller's actions and documented them in her diary.

Murder's attorney defended his client, stating that Miller had no prior record, posed a low risk, and did not pose a danger to the community. However, Judge Bradford disagreed, ruling that the community would not be safe with Miller released.

As part of the bail conditions, Miller would be subject to high-level electronic monitoring if released. Additionally, he would be restricted from contacting the victim and her family or any children, and prohibited from accessing Snapchat.

The Vegas United Volleyball Club confirmed that Miller was fired upon the allegations surfacing.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police have issued a warning, stating that Miller could have additional juvenile victims in the community. Anyone with information can contact LVMPD's sex assault detail at 702-828-3421 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
