Tales of Eternia Remastered: Bandai Namco's Cult RPG Returns in October 2026

Get ready for a thrilling reunion! Tales of Eternia Remastered, developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16, 2026. This latest installment in the Tales of Remastered project brings back one of the most iconic episodes in the Tales of series, featuring remastered graphics, comfort options, and a physical edition available on PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.

The gameplay retains the real-time combat system known as the Aggressive Linear Motion Battle System, allowing you to chain Artes and coordinate your squad in quick, 2D clashes. This version introduces several features designed to enhance the adventure, such as destination icons, the option to disable enemy encounters, and a high-speed mode for auto-battles. Players will also be able to switch between the original graphics and the remastered visuals, while fine-tuning the audio settings.

The story follows Reid Hershel and Faran Oersted, two childhood friends living on Inferia, as they navigate their daily lives. However, everything changes when they meet a mysterious girl speaking an unknown language. As they race to uncover her identity, they discover Celestia, a second world, and the threat of the Great Fall, an imminent collision powerful enough to destroy both universes.

Bandai Namco is re-launching a longtime fan favorite, staying true to its core. This remaster seems mainly designed to make Tales of Eternia more approachable for today's players, while giving longtime fans the option to experience its original look. In short, a chance to rediscover the title in better conditions without losing the link to the original version.
