Will Argentina face a heavy sanction from FIFA for 'excessive' celebration?

The Argentine players celebrated their victory over England in the 2026 World Cup with a banner that read 'Las Malvinas son Argentinas' (The Maldives are Argentine), referencing the 1982 Falklands War. The match took place in Atlanta, where Argentina was trailing 1-0 against England with only five minutes left. However, the South American team managed a remarkable comeback, scoring two goals to win 2-1 and qualify for their second consecutive World Cup final. They will face Spain in New Jersey on the next day (in Vietnamese time).
