Jose Alvarado's Unbelievable Journey to Knicks Championship Win

The New York Knicks' NBA championship win on Saturday night is a momentous occasion, especially for point guard and New York City native Jose Alvarado.

'I wasn't even supposed to be in the league, and I got a ring now!' Alvarado exclaimed on Instagram Live during the Knicks' locker room celebration after defeating the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

Alvarado, a true New York City story, starred at Christ the King Regional High School in Queens before playing four years at Georgia Tech and entering the NBA as an undrafted free agent in 2021.

New York City's prodigal son returned home this year after a midseason trade brought him to the Knicks, and he got the storybook ending by helping his hometown team win its first championship in 53 years.
